Dunstable Today reports on parade.

"Proud parade marks Dunstable's landmark date"

"Traffic comes to a standstill as 900th anniverary celebration hits the streets."

Crowds lined the streets as a big parade by cadets in Dunstable on Saturday celebrated the 900th anniversary of the founding of the town.

Traffic in the town centre was brought to a standstill as the air, army and sea cadets marched to exercise their Freedom Of Entry to Dunstable.

The Freedom Of Entry grants the right to march through the town with "drums beating and colours flying".

Dunstable air, army and sea cadets were awarded the right in 2000, to acknowledge their services to the community.

The cadets were led by the band of the Sea Cadet Biggleswade Detachment along the route.

And the salute was taken at the Dunstable Town Council offices, Grove House, in High Street North.
